The Chorus warmly welcomes new singing members.  We rehearse on alternate Saturday afternoons in Northallerton Methodist Church Hall (in the centre of Northallerton) from 2pm to 5pm, with a break in the summer.

Come along and see if you enjoy singing with us.  If you do and decide to stay, there is an annual subscription which is currently £75 (£65 if over 60 years old; free for students in full-time education).  Subscriptions become due immediately after the AGM in October and should be paid by the time of the first concert of the season (usually at the end of November).

After a few weeks you will be invited to attend a simple audition on a Saturday afternoon prior to the normal rehearsal time.  The only people present at this will be yourself, our Accompanist and our Principal Conductor.  You will be asked to sing some scales and to sing a short piece of music of your own choice appropriate to your voice.  Whilst it is desirable for members to have some sight reading experience, sight reading does not form part of the audition.

Music can be hired for a small fee or bought through the Chorus.  If you have your own music, please check in advance that it is a suitable edition.   Please bring a soft pencil with you to rehearsals.

Members are encouraged to sell concert tickets to friends and family.
